Grooming
During grooming, I cut the pads and trimmed his nails. I also clean the ears, clip the abdomen, clip the rectum, and clip below his ears. In the bathing area, I wash the dogs with shampoo then add conditioner to keep the hair follicles closed longer. The longer the hair follicles are closed the longer the coat will be clean. Then wash the face with tear-less shampoo. After this I we use the force dryer to dry him. After completing all of this preparation, we style the dogs. We do hocks and pasterns and clip some bodies. We put scarves, foofoo, and bows on every dog that is in that day. If the fur is not long enough for bows, we put the bows on the leashes.
This is a video of how it looked after I did my dogs nails. I used a nail grinder to grind them down. I made sure to watch for the quick so I didn’t hit it and make him bleed.
Projects
Animal Husbandry
In my junior year, I learned a lot of things about the basics animals.
Vet Science
During my senior year, I have learned a lot of medical techniques that will help me further my career. These photos present me picking up fecals, suturing bananas, making surgical packs, and wrapping bandages. They even include me learning how to do CPR on an infant and injecting oranges. I put a picture of parasites egg under the microscope. We discovered the egg in a fecal and because of my program I can identify the egg as a whipworm egg.
